Team Gold For Emily PDF Print E-mail

Scottish Home Pony International

Last week we headed North to Rowallan where Emily had been chosen to represent England on both the 128cm and 138cm Teams, riding Rockingham Shadow and Emos Jessie respectively.

Team spirit was great and we must thank all of the sponsors for the great rugs, coats and hoodies. After an exciting competition Emily won team Gold in the 128cm on rocky and silver on the 138cm Jessie, Team Ireland took the Gold here. It was a great experience for Emily who held up under pressure when jumping off for Silver on Jessie. Rocky was a star jumping double clear to do his bit.

News From Louise PDF Print E-mail

Louise has been busy in the last couple of months with the event horses. Murphy's Miracle went double clear and finished 13 th in Saumur in France in June. He is now qualified for Burghley whilst remaining on the short list for the Irish event team for the World Equestrian Games. He is running at Gatcombe this weekend in the British Open Championships which is always a very exciting competition with a huge testing cross country course to jump.

Ballinaslogue Cavalier has stepped up to novice level and done 4 novices clear xc. He will do a couple more and then be produced for next year with Intermediates in mind or be sold. He is a very talented horse.

Dartans Proper Job has now competed in 3 intermediate competitions including a big course at Glanusk. She has gone clear on all 3 occasions. She will now do a 1 star at Somerford Park and then have and rest and be schooled over the winter and aim for 2 stars in the spring 2011.

Devils Darnay has now done 3 pre novices all clear. He is a lovely horse with a brilliant attitude and he is now for sale. He is very genuine with the ability to go to novice level. I hope to find a nice home for him.

Thorntons Avatar again has gone clear in his 2 pre novice runs and is for sale. He will give a junior rider lots of fun as he just loves cross country and aims to please.

Chevalian heroin and The Squire have done 2 Burghley young event horse classes and will now aim for Gatcombe and Hartpury. They were bought last year unbroken and both have turned into lovely horses for the future.

Wyndham Touch of Spring owned by Donnachea Dermody has been sold to Ashlee Wynstanley to aim for novice eventing next year. I wish them the best of luck. She is a very exciting prospect for the future.

Ballinaslogue Cear has been sold to Jane Silman based at Somerford Park. He has the most amazing jump and I wish them success for the future.

Louise's exciting news is that after Burghley in September she will be opening a competition livery yard in Piltown, Ireland. I will base myself full time over there for the winter and then from March travel back and forth for the events in England.

Hopefully this will allow me to source some nice horses in Ireland for sale and produce the younger horses in Ireland with the first class facilities at the centre. The competiton centre is called Belline Estate Equestrian Centre. www.bellineestate.ie  News and horses for sale will be placed both on this website and Bellines.

The Royal International Horse Show

We had a great week at Hickstead, with some brillant results from everyone!

Firstly came the 128cm Winter Final

rihswin

Rockingham Shadow and Emily won this exciting final to get the week off to a great start. Emily enjoyed the thrill of jumping and winning in the International Arena and Rocky was a machine.

Then the WHP's.

Lilacs Pegaty and Sophie Schofield jumped an amazing round finishing a very credible fourth. Emily and Stan were unlucky to jump the wrong side of a flag resulting in elimination - however he was jumping fantastic so we had to be pleased with him.

Next up was Noble Bestman (Steve) and Michael Whitaker in the eventers Grandprix.Steve who was second in th WH final here last year started eventing with Laura Collett at the beginning of the year and with Laura away at the Europeans Micheal took up the reins jumping a great round with one down and a steady time(he wasnt allowed to go fast!!!).

Horse Worker day and Noble Cool Diamond finished ninth in the Light Weight WH and Barry Bug a great third in the Heavy Weights.

Next was Emily and Pontsarn Sidan, with owner Helen Mackay and daughter Clare travelling down from the top of Scotland to watch. Sidan did everyone proud finishing sixth after jumping a super clear.

Finally Emily and Noble Torreen Lass (Mell) in the Nursery Stakes - finished a great Third.

Welldone to Noble Boys

Noble Rockstar was once again awesome and won the Open 153cm WHP , second in the Intermediate WH and stood Reserve Champion, and Bramble Pie stood second which was great for our ponies but even better for the Barnes family. Noble Romeo was well placed in the horseworkers, as was Noble Star in the PP SHP with Clare Curry.

Spring Does It Again

The unbelivable Noble Springbok has done it again this weekend taking Team Gold and Individual Silver at the European Eventing Championships with Grace Walker. Well Done!!!

Meanwhile

Haddon House Wild Rose and Jo Clayton have been up to great things qualifying in both the Newcomer (Areana UK) and Foxhunter (Wales and West) Finals at HOYS. Rose who is owned by Nick was originally produced by Kelly before moving onto Michaels as a five year  old.

Good Luck

Good Luck to every one that has qualified for this years Royal International Horse Show (see previous results). It should be a great week at sunny Hickstaed (heres hoping!). Its always one of our favourite shows whatever the results, and offers the best courses of the year.

News at Home!

Just as we are having some yard work done the weather decides to take a dramatic turn, much to the horror of the cement men!! The new rubber flooring on the walker will be delayed for a few more days, painting the stables is limited to indoors and my new stable roof will have to wait a week or so yet! Never mind it will be worth it in the end!

Our lovely young stallion Dieago Forever has been sold abroad to Norway and we wish his new owners the very best of luck. Never ones to sit still for long Nick and Micheal now own another stallion "Pilgrim II", he jumped well in Aachen last week and will be jumping again next week at The Royal International, watch this space!!
